Week 6 Blog Post

In this lesson about academic integrity re-enforced knowledge about plagiarism, and intellectual property.  I did learn about open access research databases. At first I was confused on how these differ between any other databases we have been using. I realized that these can be used when you are researching when you don't belong to a university where the databases are free to students. Open access databases are a great thing where people do not have to pay anything to do some great research.

The videos we watched were an excellent refresher on what plagiarism is and how to write without committing academic dishonesty.  Plagiarism can be anything from forgetting to put quotes around a phrase someone else has wrote to full out using someone else's work.  I think most people do not intentionally commit plagiarism but ignorance is not an excuse. You must know how to cite properly and give credit to whoever wrote the words or ideas.
